Glaucoma

What is Glaucoma?

Glaucoma is more than high eye pressure

Traditionally, glaucoma has been thought of as high eye pressure that damages the optic nerve to cause vision loss. However, most people with glaucoma continue to lose vision even if the eye pressure is controlled.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

At the Vision Protection Institutes we specialize in Vision Protection Therapy. In glaucoma, Vision Protection Therapy is the only treatment that can reverse glaucoma damage to the optic nerve to help prevent vision loss and even improve vision and visual fields. This is because it is “neuroprotective”. Vision Protection Therapy makes your optic nerve healthier and stronger to better resist the effects of high eye pressure, to improve vision and even reverse glaucoma damage. . The Vision Protection Institutes is here to work with your glaucoma doctor to help you minimize your risk of vision loss. Glaucoma management is a team effort that takes you, your glaucoma doctor to lower your eye pressure, and the Vision Protection Institutes to provide neuroprotection.

Glaucoma is also an optic nerve disease

Our research has shown that glaucoma patients are missing chemicals made by the retina that are necessary to keep the optic nerve healthy. Vision Protection Therapy restores those essential factors. How do we know? Because only Vision Protection Therapy reverses glaucoma damage to improve visual acuity, visual fields, optic nerve function, and restore the optic nerve in glaucoma.

Vision Protection Therapy doesn’t lower eye pressure. You need to continue your eye drops and other treatments for this with the help of your glaucoma doctor. Vision Protection Therapy supplies what lowering the eye pressure doesn’t - Neuroprotection.
